HAWTHORNE – Effective immediately, the Westchester County Police Department is limiting public access to its headquarters in Hawthorne and is requiring that as much business as possible be conducted by telephone or electronically.

Accident reports, which were already available online, can no longer be obtained in person. Anyone seeking a copy of an accident report can access it at crashdocs.org.

Police department procedures regarding vehicle impounds and the return of other personal property will also be affected. Call the appropriate contact number below for assistance.

Officers and staff will determine if it is necessary for someone to come in person. When it is necessary, it may be possible to conduct some business initially on the phone or by email to reduce the time of a visit.

Copies of police reports and other public documents will not be available in person at this time. For assistance with these and other matters, use our non-emergency number listed below.

As always, use 911 to report an emergency or crime in progress.

If you need to report a past crime or incident, telephone 914-864-7600 to receive further instructions.
