POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County is hoping to have at least one mobile testing site for coronavirus in under a week.

County Emergency Services Director Dana Smith has been dealing with the state in his effort. “We put in a request through the Department of Emergency response to the New York State Department of Health and Office of Emergency Management to establish a mobile testing site in Dutchess County. That is in process. It’s a stand-up medical facility so it can’t be done overnight, but we are hopeful that will become operational soon,” he said.

County Executive Marcus Molinaro said he is also working on another option. “We are working with a private healthcare network in the expectation that they will prop up a mobile testing facility as early as early next week,” he said.

The county executive also said he is developing “Dutchess Responds,” an effort to raise money for those who are economically impacted by the pandemic.
