CLERMONT – A Clermont woman was arrested on Tuesday, March 17, on 35 counts of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals, or failure to provide proper sustenance.

Andrea Nussinow, 57, was arraigned and released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance.

On December 2, 2019, State Police at Livingston received a complaint of possible animal neglect at Blue Star Farm on Nevis Road in the Town of Clermont.

Investigation led to the January execution of three search warrants for the property where they found 20 horses, six sheep, two goats, two cows, one donkey and seven cats, which were seized and taken in by volunteer organizations and individuals.

Continued investigation with assistance from local and state veterinary professions along with the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office led to the arrest of Nussinow.
