Wholesale club alters hours to accommodate “at-risk” customers

WAPPINGERS FALLS – BJ’s Wholesale Club in Wappingers Falls and Yorktown Heights are changing hours to accommodate members age 60 and older who have been deemed susceptible to COVID-19 according to health officials.

Beginning on Wednesday, March 18, people ages 60 and over can use a designated entrance, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to allow for shopping while ensuring the recommended social distancing space. According to management, employees will not be requesting ID for entry however, managers said “we ask that you please respect the purpose of the early opening – and do the right thing for your neighbors.” Store associates do reserve the right to ask members to leave if they are not a member of this age group unless accompanying a member that needs assistance.

Store managers added, “We hope you will join us in our efforts to care for the older members of our community at this time, and we are very grateful for your continued support.”
