Orange County Health Commissioner Dr. Irina Gelman confers with County Attorney Langdon Chapman and County Executive Steven Neuhaus

GOSHEN – The Orange County Emergency Operations Center is not staffed with just county leaders, but with the coronavirus upon us, there are officials from other health-related organizations.

County Emergency Services Commissioner Brendan Casey said this enables the county the ability to provide more comprehensive services.“We brought the major hospital groups and the medical providers that are in the county, representatives of those, into the EOC, so now we have a working group in here. We have direct contact with them. We get a feel for what is going on in their facilities and what we can do to help supplement what they are doing,” he said.

County Executive Steven Neuhaus also spoke Monday evening at a tele-town hall session said he was glad to see the governor delayed village elections statewide from March 18 to the April 28 primary election.
