POUGHKEEPSIE – The City of Poughkeepsie’s professional firefighters were dispatched to 310 Church Street late Monday evening for a report of a fire in the wall at the residence.
Firefighters responded to the call around 11:00 pm Monday night according to Chief Mark Johnson and they confirmed that a small fire was present.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze that was likely caused by embers left behind when a contractor had been soldering pipes earlier in the day.
According to Johnson, no injuries to firefighters or the two occupants occurred and the residents were allowed to maintain the use of the dwelling Monday night.
