Connecticut man charged with stealing credit cards, racking up $25,000 in purchases

YORKTOWN – A 42-year-old Brookfield, Connecticut man has been charged by Yorktown Police with grand larceny and identity theft, both as felonies.

Police began an investigation on January 1 when an identity theft and larceny complaint was lodged. 

An investigation revealed the suspect, whose name police did not make public, allegedly stole cash and credit cards from a victim’s home and made unauthorized purchases totaling $25,007 between June 2019 and January 1, 2020.

The defendant was placed under arrest on March 10. Following arraignment, he was released on his own recognizance and a temporary order of protection was lodged on behalf of the victim.
