MONTICELLO – Sullivan County Clerk Russell Reeves announced late Thursday that the Department of Motor Vehicles only camera is broken and in non-working order.
“We can only process license and non-driver ID renewals only if staff can use your current photo,” said Reeves. “We are unable to process any transaction that requires a new photo including but not limited to real, enhanced, reciprocity and permits at this time. We can still process all other transactions.”
Reeves said the state’s repair technician didn’t arrive Thursday as expected but is scheduled for Friday and “we hope to have our camera working ASAP.”
The county clerk said he is working with the county to purchase a second camera to mitigate this problem occurring in the future.
