Port Jervis man wanted in NY and PA arrested with firearm in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – A Port Jervis man is under arrest in Newburgh after city police spotted him sitting in the back seat of a car in the parking lot of the Varrick Homes apartment complex late Wednesday afternoon with a semi-automatic rifle laying on his lap. The rifle was secured along with a magazine containing several rounds of .223 ammunition.

David Rombousek, 20, was found to have an active felony probation warrant out of Orange County as well as one from Pennsylvania State Police.

He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
