CARMEL – The special meeting of the Putnam County Legislature scheduled for this evening at Tilly Foster will continue as scheduled; however, County Executive MaryEllen Odell will not be delivering the full state of the county address.
Instead, she will present her written materials to legislators to fulfill the requirements of the county charter.
The meeting remains open to the public; however, the county is strongly urging residents to adhere to CDC guidance regarding large public gatherings. In addition, Commissioner of Health Dr. Michael Nesheiwat recommends that the public avoid any large gatherings.
Odell continues to oversee the county’s response to the virus and the department of health has instituted daily internal coronavirus briefings with key partner agencies and organizations to keep all necessary groups informed on the latest information.
The county executive’s full state of the county presentation will be rescheduled at a later date still to be determined.
