CITY OF HUDSON – A 67-year-old City of Hudson man has been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a nine-year-old that allegedly occurred in Hudson last summer.

On Friday late afternoon, March 6, Hudson detectives interviewed the parents of a juvenile Hudson resident who gave their child’s account of the incident.

With the assistance of Columbia County Assistant District Attorneys Joyce Crawford and Krista Kline, and the staff of the Child Advocacy Center, information was obtained from the child that afternoon and criminal charges against Mohammed Ali were prepared immediately.

He was charged with seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.

Ali was arraigned and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or bond.

Police said Ali was charged on November 14, 2019, with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual abuse. He was released on his own recognizance that day after arraignment.

On November 22, 2019, after a hearing, he was remanded to jail in lieu of $20,000 which he posted later that day and was released.
