TOWN OF WALLKILL – One of Crystal Run Healthcare’s patients has tested positive for COVID-19, the health care provider announced Wednesday.
Spokeswoman Lynn Haskin said the patient was treated in Orange County, but she would not specify in which location the individual was seen and tested.
The organization said providers and staff involved in the care of the patient followed Crystal Run’s COVID-19 plan, based on Centers of Disease Control and State Health Department Guidelines.
As a result, the company said it was able to “identify the patient quickly and take appropriate action, working in conjunction with local public health authorities.
Given the size of the business serving Orange, Sullivan and Rockland counties, their statement said “we recognized the inevitability of diagnosing COVID-19 among those for whom we provide care. Accordingly, they said they have been preparing for “this eventuality for weeks.”
The healthcare company said it is “committed to doing everything possible to minimize the spread of coronavirus in our community and will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC and department of health to ensure the safety of our patients, staff and community.”
