WESTCHESTER COUNTY – Protecting our Vote 2020 is a project of a local group of activists concerned about the security, reliability, and cost of voting equipment that many New York cities and counties are poised to purchase.

At a forum on Thursday, March 26 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Ossining Library, speakers will explain serious concerns that have been raised about the equipment the Westchester County Board of Elections has designated for purchase. They will also discuss how citizens can get involved in trying to improve the decisions of our local Board of Elections regarding the procurement of voting machines.

The speakers at the forum are Lulu Friesdat, a documentary filmmaker who is the co-founder of SmartElections.us and Deborah Porder, a leader of Indivisible Scarsdale who lobbies state government on election reform and has drafted legislation on a variety of election issues, including voting machines.

The New York Legislature and Westchester County will be making important decisions about how public funds will be spent for the next generation of voting equipment. Come to the March 26 Forum at the Ossining Library to find out more.
