HUDSON VALLEY – The 29th Annual Community Spelling BEE, New York State’s longest-running sanctioned spelling Bee, will be held this year at Marist College in the Student Union Building on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
The event begins with registration at 8:15 AM. Competition will begin at approximately 9:20 and the BEE should end shortly after 12 noon.
Breakfast and a mid-morning snack will be served to all participants and staff volunteers. Those interested in spelling/competing should call Literacy Connections of the Hudson Valley at 845-452-8670 and ask for Katherine Stikkers.
Literacy Connections is also still accepting sponsorships for this agency fundraiser. Businesses may sponsor teams of 2 to spell on their behalf or they may sponsor a local school district to participate. Adult teams of 2 may also participate in this long-running community activity.
Literacy Connections works in Dutchess, Columbia, Greene and Orange Counties to help residents read, write and reach their potential.
