Lucky Hops craft beer festival coming to Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – One of Poughkeepsie’s craft beer makers, King’s Court Brewing Company is teaming up with their neighbor, Revel 32 to present the Lucky Hops Craft Beer Festival on March 14, 2020.

The event, featuring more than twenty breweries, is being held at the area’s newest event facility, Revel 32, located at 32 Cannon Street in Poughkeepsie. There will be more than 40 different beers available from at least twenty brewers in addition to live music, Irish dancers, games, food vendors and more.

Cousins Ale Works brewer Aaron Browne said he looks forward to events like this. Craft brewers tend to work together, according to Browne. “The importance of beer events or festivals is for craft breweries to showcase what they do and their unique styles or takes brewing beer. The festivals allow small breweries such as myself to reach a large audience that could be from all different locations throughout New York and sometimes bordering states. It really helps small breweries get their product in front of a much larger audience in one event.”

Aaron Browne of Cousins Ale Works will have his Smoking Musket Stout at the festival.

Bianca Hendricks of Revel 32 called the event “A way to get the spirit of the Irish just in time for St. Patrick’s Day while sampling some of the best craft beers in the Hudson Valley.”

The event has three different ticket prices. VIP tickets are $60 and include early entry, 5 oz. tasting glass, unlimited tastings, and a free Lucky Hops t-shirt. VIPs are allowed to enter the event at 1:00 pm and stay until 6:00 pm. General admission tickets are $40, which includes a free 5 oz. taster glass and unlimited tastings, with entry starting at 2:00 pm. Designated drivers will pay $5 for admission. All ticket groups have access to live music and games.

A cash bar and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for all attendees.
