Elderly woman killed in Town of Newburgh crash

NEWBURGH – An 82-year-old woman was killed when her car was involved in a collision with another vehicle on Fostertown Road in the Town of Newburgh.

Town Police said the accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday near the intersection of Brandywine Crossing.

Police said the victim, identified as Eleanor Bortone, of the Town of Newburgh, was traveling eastbound on Fostertown in the area of Fostertown School. The other involved vehicle was traveling westbound on Fostertown. The crash occurred on the roadway.

The investigation is continuing.

Town of Newburgh Police were assisted at the scene by State Police, the Cronomer Valley Fire Department, Mobile Life Support Services, Town of Newburgh Emergency Medical Services and the Town of Newburgh Fire Investigation Unit.
