Troopers nab driver doing 145 mph in Orange County

TOWN OF WALLKILL – A New Jersey man has been arrested after he was clocked driving 145 mph in a 65 mph zone on Route 17 westbound near exit 122.

State Police clocked the driver, identified as Jeremy Vanleuvan, 23, of Wanaque, New Jersey, as he drove a 2009 Dodge Challenger past a trooper shooting radar in the Town of Wallkill around 10:15 a.m. on Friday, February 28.

Vanleuvan sped up and began passing vehicles in a reckless manner.

He was seen getting off the highway and was finally stopped on Route 17K west.

Vanleuvan was charged with speeding, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Wallkill Town Court at a later date.
