CARMEL – Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley Jr. has scheduled an hour-long forum on the new bail-reform laws enacted by NYS.

The Putnam County Sheriff will be hosting a “Q&A” session regarding the new laws at the Desmond Fish Public Library on February 29 to help citizens better understand the ramifications of the new laws.  The session is scheduled from noon to 1:00 PM at the library located at 472 Route 403 in Garrison.

Langley is one of many county sheriffs, police chiefs, and district attorneys that converged on the state capitol earlier this month to voice their concerns over the new bail-reform and discovery laws that have changed the way accused criminals are detained and have made the personal information of victims and witnesses available to the accused.
