FISHKILL – A Fishkill man has been arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular assault, vehicular assault, DWI and reckless driving in connection with a June 30, 2017 crash in the Village of Fishkill.

State Police allege that James Haggerty, Jr. was driving westbound on Route 52 and passed a westbound vehicle in a no-passing zone, striking two oncoming vehicles in the eastbound lanes.

Two people suffered serious injuries as a result.

Haggerty’s blood alcohol content was found to be 0.17 percent.

Troopers said that with the assistance of the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office, subpoenas were obtained for medical records and the case was presented to a grand jury, which voted an indictment.

Haggerty was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Fishkill Village Court.
