Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam County offers scholarships

PUTNAM COUNTY – High school students graduating in June that are interested in a career related to horticulture, environmental science, sustainability, and similar topics are invited to apply for one of two $500 scholarships being awarded by the Master Gardener Volunteers of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam County. Students must be Putnam County residents but can attend any high school or be home-schooled. Awardees must plan to pursue advanced education in a recognized institution of higher learning. The deadline for the application is April 30, 2020.

For 10 years Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam County Master Gardener Volunteers have offered this scholarship to Putnam County youth. Past recipients have attended programs in Environmental Science and Sustainability at Cornell University and SUNY Plattsburgh, Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy at R.I.T., and Wildlife and Conservation Law at Unity College. 

All students who meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply.
