POUGHKEEPSIE – Two Poughkeepsie drug dealers were sentenced in federal court for selling fentanyl that led to the deaths of four people.

Frank Moss, also known as “Jigga,” a Poughkeepsie drug dealer whose fentanyl led to the overdose deaths of two women, was sentenced to almost 22 years in prison, and Arnold Melendez, also known as “Frankie,” another Poughkeepsie drug dealer whose fentanyl led to the overdose deaths of two men, was sentenced to almost 16 years in prison.

Both men pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl in unrelated cases.

The men were sentenced on January 29, but their cases were not announced by federal authorities until Wednesday, February 19.

Both men had served previous prison sentences and they began selling fentanyl immediately after their release in 2017.
