WASHINGTONVILLE – Assemblyman Colin Schmitt (R,C,I-New Windsor) announced that Peter Botelho and Daniella Rubino of Cornwall are the next artists selected to showcase their work in the 99th Assembly District Art Showcase program.

Assemblyman Schmitt launched the 99th Assembly District Art Showcase Program to highlight artists in the district and add an important aspect of cultural and community celebration to his office. Peter Botelho and Daniella Rubino are local young artists who chose to showcase some of their still life, nature and creative paintings in the Assembly offices.

Assemblyman Colin Schmitt stated, “I am happy to display both Peter and Daniella’s paintings on the walls in both my Albany and District offices. It is a privilege to be able to encourage these young artists to continue chasing their dreams and provide an opportunity for their art to be seen and enjoyed by as many people as possible.”

Schmitt continued, “This display of artwork from local constituents gives visitors something a little extra special to look forward to when coming in for a meeting. I enjoy being acme to promote the arts and talent in my district through my art showcase program. I hope all local artists, regardless of medium or experience, would consider submitting their work to the program to also be showcased in my office for later this year.”

Peter Botelho said, “I thank Assemblyman Schmitt for providing me and others the opportunity to display our artwork. I have been drawing since I was as young as I could remember and even studied Art Education as a local college student. To have my local Assemblyman engage with my passion and allow me an opportunity to put my work on display is absolutely amazing! I truly hope that all visitors to the office enjoy my paintings!”

Daniella Rubino stated, “Thank you to Assemblyman Schmitt for allowing me to showcase some of my paintings in his office! Art is my passion and I am so proud to have my paintings displayed in the Assemblyman’s offices. It is so important to support local artists and I appreciate Assemblyman Schmitt’s efforts to do so!”
