MONTICELLO – Two men who were involved in the burglary of a storage building on private property in the Town of Fallsburg were each sentenced in Sullivan County Court to 8 ½ years in prison.

Jose Vences, 23, of Ellenville, and Everett Nolan, 21, of Hurleyville, were also sentenced to five years of post-release supervision.

Both men pled guilty to burglary and criminal possession of a weapon, admitting that they illegally entered the building and stole items including an ATV.

An investigation by Fallsburg Police detectives recovered many of the stolen items and led to the arrests of Vences and Nolan.

Vences was sentenced in December 2019 and Nolan was sentenced on February 14.

“These defendants violated the sacred right of this victim to keep secure his property, including his lawfully possessed firearms,” said Acting District Attorney Meagan Galligan. By their sentences, she said the men “have been held accountable and responsible for their crimes.”
