SPRING VALLEY – A stabbing inside Finkelstein Memorial Library in Spring Valley Tuesday afternoon has left a female security guard dead.
A male suspect was seen being escorted out of the library by a police officer.
It was not immediately known if the victim and the alleged perpetrator knew one another or if they had a relationship.
Spring Valley Police have yet to release any information on the incident that occurred as the library was busy with patrons.
State Senator David Carlucci was “extremely upset over this act of violence that incited more fear and chaos in our close-knit community.”
He said he will work with the library and state officials “to make sure we get our libraries whatever they need for security moving forward.”
