Taylor to leave state ESD for casinos

NEW WINDSOR – Meghan Taylor, who has been the regional director of the state’s Empire State Development Corporation, will be leaving state employment to join the world of gaming.

For the last five years, she has been New York’s top economic development official in the Mid-Hudson Valley, but she will be leaving to join the Resorts World team.

“Meghan’s leadership has been enormously impactful on the mid-Hudson region’s economy and we thank her for five dedicated years of service to New York State,” said ESD spokesman Adam Kilduff.

Taylor’s new role will be to work through the application process to secure a full gaming license for Resorts World’s Queens electronic gaming operation as well as work on the development of an electronic gaming casino in the Harriman area.

Prior to working for the state, Taylor was president of the Putnam County Economic Development Corporation for two years. She was the director of business attraction at the Orange County Partnership for three years before that.
