STONY POINT – Aidan Rowan has announced he will seek the Republican nomination to run for the 39th State Senate post currently held by Democrat James Skoufis of Woodbury.

The district encompasses parts of north Rockland, eastern Orange County, and lower Ulster County.

“Over the past 12 months and beyond, New York has engaged in an increasingly dangerous progressive path which we – as citizens of this great Empire State – can no longer afford,” the 19-year-old Rowan said.

“From bail reform, to ninth month late-term abortions, to the new Green Light law for undocumented individuals which could lead to illegitimate voting privileges, to five-hour-long breaks during critical budget votes,” he said.

“At almost 19 years, I believe as you come to know me, I am mature beyond my years and have a significant amount of contributions to create for the citizens of this great state and potential new citizens as well,” Rowan said.
