PATTERSON – A vehicle and traffic stop at Route 292 and Harmony Road in the Town of Patterson revealed that the driver was wanted in Connecticut for a hit-and-run accident involving serious injury or death.

A Putnam County Sheriff’s deputy had pulled over a car driven by Marcellus Ferrell, 32, of Patterson on February 8 and a computer check revealed the warrant for his arrest.

A check of the vehicle’s registration also revealed a suspension for an insurance lapse.

Ferrell was brought to Carmel Town Justice Court where he was issued an appearance ticket for the vehicle and traffic law charges. He was also arraigned as a fugitive from justice on the Connecticut warrant and remanded to the Putnam County Jail to await an extradition hearing. He waived extradition and agreed to be extradited to Connecticut.
