WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Vernon man was sentenced in Westchester County Court to a prison term for presenting police with a forged document.

In November, a jury found Ian Davis, 32, guilty of felony criminal possession of a forged instrument and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle as a misdemeanor.

Judge David Zuckerman sentenced Davis to 2 ½ to five years on the felony and six months on the misdemeanor, with the sentences to run concurrently.

The case stemmed from Davis submitted a forged lien release to the Irvington Police in an attempt to get an impounded 2011 Land Rover out of impound despite a hold having been placed on it.
