ORANGE COUNTY – Orange Regional Medical Center and Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital have been named among America’s 250 Best Hospitals in the Healthgrades 2020 America’s list. This is the second consecutive year that ORMC received the designation.

The distinction places the healthcare centers in the top five percent of nearly 4,500 hospitals assessed nationwide for their superior clinical performance as measured by Healthgrades, the leading resource that connects consumers, physicians and health systems.

“Being recognized as one of the Top 250 Hospitals in the Nation for Clinical Excellence is a tribute to the exceptional care by our medical staff and clinical teams,” said Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital President Joan Cusack-McGuirk. “This is an incredible achievement and we are truly appreciative of our entire workforce who serve our community every single day.”Officials of Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital celebrate the designation as one of the top 250 hospitals in the United States

“ORMC has a culture of continuous improvement and provides the highest quality care to the communities we serve,” said spokesman Rob Lee. “I think it’s terrific to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to quality and outcome,” he said. “There are so many people at the hospital who are really committed to working hard 24/7/365 to provide the best care for our region.”

From 2016 through 2018, patients treated in hospitals receiving the Healthgrades America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award had, on average, 26.6 percent lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award, as measured across 19 rated conditions and procedures for which mortality is the outcome.
