PORT EWEN – A man was shot in the shoulder when he was with a juvenile outside their residence in the Dutcher Mobile Home Park off Salem Street late Friday night. The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said three armed, masked men approached the two and demanded property.
A brief struggle ensued during which the adult sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie where he was treated and later released.
Police said preliminary indications suggest the adult victim was not randomly targeted.
The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 845-338-3640.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by State Police and Mobile Life Support Services.
