SAUGERTIES – A Kingston man has been arrested by Saugerties Police after a local woman reported she had been assaulted by him during a previous domestic incident.
The victim reported the incident to police on October 29, 2019, but attempts at the time to locate the suspect, identified as Ronald Hoffer, 59, were unsuccessful and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On February 8, officers from the Kingston Police Department encountered him in the City of Kingston and took him into custody.
He was relayed to the Town of Saugerties and charged with menacing and criminal obstruction of breathing-blood circulation.
Hoffer was arraigned with an order of protection issued on behalf of the victim, prior to his release to answer the charges at a later date.
