Poughkeepsie man charged with pulling knife during burglary

POUGHKEEPSIE – A Town of Poughkeepsie man was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail following his arrest in connection with a January burglary.

Town Police said Gerald Fryar, 57, allegedly broke into a home on Davis Avenue at 6:30 p.m. on January 7. The homeowner found him inside his residence and confronted him.

Fryar then allegedly pulled a knife and threatened the man with it before fleeing.

After his arrest, he was charged with first-degree burglary and menacing, both as felonies.
