Attorney Jose-Decker to run for Sullivan County Court judge

MONTICELLO – Attorney Danielle Jose-Decker has announced her candidacy for Sullivan County Court judge and Surrogate.

Jose-Decker of the Town of Thompson has received the endorsement of the Executive Committee of the Sullivan County Republican Party.

The judge also sits as acting family court judge.

Prior to her current position as a partner in Racciani and Jose, LLP, Jose-Decker served as an assistant county district attorney for two years where she was responsible for investigating and prosecuting felony child sex abuse cases as part of the county-wide Family Violence Response Team.

“My practice to this point has made me uniquely well-prepared to serve Sullivan County as its county court judge and surrogate,” Jose-Decker said. “If elected, I will treat all people entering my courtroom with respect, and apply the law without partiality, mindful of the principles of our Constitution and governing laws.”

Jose-Decker is serving her second term as president of the Sullivan County Bar Association and was an adjunct professor at SUNY Sullivan, having taught business law.

As of now, three attorneys have expressed interest in the Democratic nomination for judge – Craig Fine, Eric Adler, and Michael Mednick.
