NEW CITY – Clarkstown Police have formally charged the man believed to have held up the Chase Bank branch in Nanuet on Monday.

Jamie Bass, 46, of New City, was charged with felony robbery and a misdemeanor of petit larceny.

It is alleged that he entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding money. Police did not say if, or how much cash, he made off with.

Clarkstown detectives investigated and determined Bass was staying in a hotel room at the Days Inn in Nanuet.

He was arrested there, brought back to police headquarters and charged.
