TOWN OF ULSTER – The Nuvance Health multi-specialty medical center opened Tuesday at what once was the Macy’s department store in the Hudson Valley Mall in the Town of Ulster.

Nuvance Health spent over a year and $20 million converting the former big-box store into a healthcare center with urgent care, radiology, neurology and laboratory services.

Family healthcare is provided in the facility by Hudson River Health Care, which leases space there and hosts Health Quest Medical Education family medicine residents.

Hudson River Health Care provides on-site family healthcare, primary care, women’s health, behavioral health, nutrition services, and care coordination.

About 40 healthcare providers and another 125 people are expected to be employed there when it is fully occupied, according to Nuvance Health officials.
