BEEKMAN – The Beekman Fire Department recently honored a few members at their annual installation dinner.

22-year-old Ryan Westhoff, a member of the department since 2017, serving as a firefighter and EMT, received the honor of “Engine Company Member of the Year.  The award was presented by Captain Andrew Rayburn.  The officer said, in his presentation “Every year the line officers select a member who goes above and beyond as the engine company member of the year. In 2019 we responded to a multitude of fire calls including vehicle extrications, house fires and even the occasional 3 am fire alarm. At numerous alarms, this member has had an exceptional impact in ensuring a successful outcome. He has continued his training and commitment to the firehouse and has mentored younger members.”  Westhoff said “I am humbled to receive this award.  No firefighter does this for the accolades.”
