GOSHEN – Orange County Family Court Judge Carol Klein has been on the county bench for two 10-year terms and she announced on Thursday night that she is seeking a third term this November.

Klein told supporters that it is important to have a judge on the family court bench who knows how to handle all kinds of tough cases that come before her. “I know every role in the court and it is so important to have a judge with experience, integrity and compassion,” she said. “I know when to use the velvet glove and when to use the hammer.”

Klein has also served as an acting State Supreme Court justice and has headed specialty courts including Family Treatment Court and the Juvenile Treatment Court.

Prior to serving on the county bench, Klein was a Chester town justice for 12 ½ years.

She will face a challenge in November from Democrat Maria Patrizio, the supervising attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Orange County.
