GOSHEN – Kaliek Goode-Ford, who is facing three murder counts in connection with Sunday morning’s murder of three members of the Crisantos family in their Route 300 home in the Town of Newburgh, was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in state prison in connection with an earlier crime.

Ford had pled guilty in an October 2016 incident to attempted possession of a weapon.

Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler said Judge Robert Freehill sentenced Ford to prison in the earlier crime.

“Ford had been at liberty for over a year-and-a-now on $30,000 bond on that particular case while his lawyers had litigated particular issues regarding it and today, as a result of his arrest in the murder case in the Town of Newburgh, Judge Freehill moved his case for immediate sentence,” Hoovler said.

Ford was also sentenced to five years of post-release supervision.

If he is convicted in the family murders, he will likely spend the rest of his life in prison.
