GOSHEN – A Port Jervis man, Justin White, who was involved in a gunpoint robbery of a 67-year-old Port Jervis man, pled guilty before Orange County Court Judge Craig Stephen Brown to armed robbery on Thursday.

White, 30, and his accomplice, Tranelle Drake, 31, also of Port Jervis, who previously pled guilty, robbed the victim with what appeared to be a pistol on August 3, 2018, struck him in the face with the weapon, stole his wallet, car keys and cellphone and then locked him in the trunk of his car.

The victim was able to escape from the trunk before White and Drake drove away in the car.

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies were able sop the car in the Village of Walden and the two suspects were arrested.

They were both indicted on charges of first-degree robbery and kidnapping.

Drake pled guilty on October 24, 2019 to robbery. Pursuant to a plea agreement, Drake will receive 13 years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision when sentenced in February.

White, who previously pled guilty to rape for having sex with an underage girl, faces up to 17 years in prison when he is sentenced in March.

He pled guilty to robbery and will receive 10 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision, which can run consecutively to the two to seven years of determinate sentence that he can receive on the rape case.

Prosecutors will be arguing that he should be sentenced to a total of 16 years in prison and 20 years of post-release supervision.
