RAMAPO – Two men were arrested Saturday night following a physical altercation in the Town of Ramapo.

Town police were called out at 7:40 p.m. and arrested a 47-year-old New Square man.

It is alleged the man was involved in a physical altercation with another man and that during that incident the New Square resident grabbed a knife and charged toward the other man yelling and cursing at him.

The suspect was arrested for menacing and possession of a weapon.

The other man, a 20-year-old New City resident, was also arrested and charged with criminal mischief for damaging property during the altercation.

As per the new bail reform, the suspects were both released on an appearance ticket without bail.

A police Facebook post did not provide the names of the two men, nor did it provide the location of the incident.
