TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – The Poughkeepsie Galleria, owned by the Pyramid Management Group LLC, has played an important role in Dutchess County for more than 30 years and has helped many community-based organizations to date.
Poughkeepsie Galleria was honored with the 2019 Outstanding Community Leader award at the Abilities First, Inc. Signature Event. Chief Advancement Officer, Melissa McCoy stated, “It would be hard to not be aware of the numerous ways Poughkeepsie Galleria partners with regional businesses and organizations to strengthen the surrounding community. Certainly notable by the hospitality and welcoming collaborative spirit of Poughkeepsie Galleria’s Marketing team, there is never anything but a positive and supportive welcome for Abilities First. Their advocacy has intensified over the past five years as they have engaged and encouraged their retail stores to learn about disabilities and commit to the Abilities First pledge, to executing flash mobs. From the warm welcome individuals from our adult programs receive as they take trips to the Galleria, to support of our events, they have made a difference!” 
The recognition by Abilities First is due in part to the Poughkeepsie Galleria’s efforts to give back to the community.
In 2019, Poughkeepsie Galleria hosted over 120 non-profit groups that utilized the mall for meeting space, fundraising, and awareness campaigns more than 250 times.
The Poughkeepsie Galleria also partnered on over 20 special events including the annual St. Jude Radiothon, Rocky Strong Caregiver Fair and the Showcase of Resources for Enrichment & Inclusion with Abilities First, Inc., and others.
