New Hope Community and Select Human Services merge

LOCH SHELDRAKE – The Board of Directors of New Hope Community, Inc. has announced the merger of New Hope Community, Inc. with Select Humans Services, Inc., effective January 1, 2020.

Both New Hope Community and Select Human Services provide certified and non-certified, community-based supports and services that enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

New Hope Community, based in Sullivan County and Select Human Services, based in Westchester County, together will provide supports to over 1,000 individuals and their families.

Select Human Services is one of the largest providers of community habilitation supports in the Hudson Valley region.  Building on their organizational specialties, vision and shared strategic mission, the merger allows New Hope Community and Select Human Services to diversify and strengthen as one leading human services organization in Hudson Valley.

Debra McGinness, who served as CEO of Select Human Services, was selected as CEO for both organizations and is responsible for developing long-range initiatives for New Hope Community and Select Human Services.

Select Human Services will continue to operate as a division of New Hope Community. Executive Director Margaret Wicksman of Select Human Services will lead this division in a new role as vice president, SHS Division.
