Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall to host educational series

NEWBURGH – As part of its ongoing community outreach program, Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Orthopedics Department will be providing free seminars and education events to the community throughout 2020. Each event will focus on topics including arthritis, sports medicine, and knee replacements.

MSLC will kick off its Orthopedic education series for 2020 on Thursday, January 16 at the Howland Public Library in Beacon, New York for a presentation on prevention and treatment of adult sports injuries in the upper extremities. The seminar will be presented by Dr. John Uhorchak a board-certified surgeon specializing in orthopedic sports medicine.

On Thursday, February 20, MSLC board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Matthew Gordon, will be presenting on the “Prevention and Treatment of Sports Injuries” at the Howland Public Library in Beacon, New York. More specifically, Dr. Gordon will discuss orthopedic injuries of the knee and provide information on how to treat them and prevent future injuries.

MSLC’s Orthopedic education continues on Thursday, March 12 at the Glen Arden Community Home in Goshen, New York. Presented by MSLC Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Kenneth Rauschenbach, this seminar will discuss arthritis of the hip, knee and shoulder along with its treatment, which includes dietary supplements, medications, exercise, and surgery.

On Thursday, March 19, Dr. John McLoughlin, the Medical Director of the MSLC Center for Joint Replacement, will be presenting a free seminar on knee replacements at the Howland Public Library in Beacon, New York. Dr. McLoughlin will discuss the process and benefits of knee replacements in orthopedic surgery.
