POUGHKEEPSIE – A Denver, Colorado man is in the Dutchess County Jail without bail after he allegedly shot at three juveniles in the area of Innis Avenue near Arnold Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
Justtin Haywood, 37, was spotted driving in the City of Poughkeepsie a short time after the 3:48 p.m. incident in Wednesday, January 15. He was taken into custody and turned over to town police.
When officers responded to the area of the shooting, they located the juveniles that were fired upon. No one was shot, but officers located a house that was struck by a bullet. No one in the house was injured either.
After town police interviewed witnesses, they broadcast a description of a vehicle in which the suspect fled and city police nabbed him.
Haywood was charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, both as felonies.
