Yonkers man found guilty in murder of 16-year-old, attempted murder of two others

WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man was found guilty of all charges related to the killing of a Yonkers teenager and the attempted murder of two others following a jury trial before Westchester County Court Judge George Fufidio.

Joel Thompson, 25, was found guilty of murder in the death of 16-year-old Madysen Denman of Yonkers and two counts of attempted murder in the attempted murder of two others.

On December 20, 2017, at about 9:40 in the morning, following a fight at an apartment complex on Nepperhan Avenue in Yonkers, Thompson intentionally drove his car into the sidewalk and ran into Denman, pinning her to a wall and killing her.

He also attempted to kill two others in the group with his car, Omar Ramos and Monty Anthony. Neither was injured.

Thompson is set to be sentenced next month.
