SLOATSBURG – The man whose car crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer parked on the side of the eastbound Thruway in Sloatsburg Monday morning remains in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center, State Police said Tuesday.

Police said Louis Lupo, 52, was driving a 3007 Toyota Avalon around 7:30 a.m. when he left the roadway and slammed into the rear of the truck that was on the shoulder.

The truck driver, David Bucci, 43, of Bel Air, MD, was in the sleeping berth of the truck and was not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
