SUFFERN – Police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body found in the woods of Harriman State Park near Suffern Sunday morning.
Troopers said a father and his kids were riding on an ATV about a mile into the woods when they came across the body.
It was not known how long the victim has been there.
It took first responders about 3 ½ hours to conduct an investigation and remove the body from the scene from the only access point into the woods behind 8 Regis Court in the Village of Montebello.
The Rockland County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy in an attempt to determine the person’s identity, age, cause of death and when he died.
