MARGARETVILLE – The Catskill Watershed Corporation Board of Directors has approved the purchase of 21.7 acres from a homeowner in the hamlet of New Kingston for the New Kingston Wastewater project.

At its recent meeting, the board approved a business loan to work in participation with Ulster Savings Bank and the Small Business Administration to provide funding for McKenley Hollow LLC for the redevelopment of the former Mountain Gate Lodge in Big Indian. Once complete, it will operate as Eastwind-Big Indian.

The board has successfully worked with this group of developers on their sister property Eastwind Hotel & Bar in Windham.

The watershed board also awarded funding for replacement septic systems, expanded systems and additional construction costs to 10 homeowners and business owners in eight towns in Delaware, Greene, and Ulster counties.

The Catskill Watershed Corp. is a non-profit, local development corporation responsible for several environmental protection, economic development and education programs in the New York City Watershed West of the Hudson River.
