Police arrest man in connection with seven burglaries at religious schools

RAMAPO – Town Police in Ramapo have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with seven overnight burglaries in religious schools.

Ramapo detectives were able to identify the suspect and his information and photo were shared with area police departments.

It was later learned that the same man committed a burglary in the Village of Spring Valley just days ago.

Based on the information developed by Ramapo Police, a Spring Valley officer spotted the man in a taxicab. The vehicle was stopped and the man was placed under arrest.

Police did not release the man’s name.

He was charged with seven felony counts of burglary in Ramapo and one count in Spring Valley; one felony count of grand larceny in both Ramapo and Spring Valley; two counts of misdemeanor petit larceny in Ramapo and one count in Spring Valley; and four counts of criminal mischief in Ramapo.

As per the new criminal justice and bail reforms, he was released on his own recognizance without bail and advised to return to court later this month.
