Fire in Nanuet house under renovation

NANUET – The Rockland County BCI/Arson Unit and the Orangetown fire inspector are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a house that was under renovation.

Orangetown Police said the fire, reported at 12:09 Friday morning, was in a single-family home on Harold Street.

Fire was burning on the rear of the building including the deck when firefighters arrived on the scene.

The house was vacant.

The Pearl River Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire without incident. They were assisted by the West Nyack, South Spring Valley and Nanuet fire departments.

The New City department was on standby in Pearl River.
